We live in Fairview, a suburb of Dallas, about 40 minutes North of downtown Dallas. The area is blessed by a number of hotels and two major airports that service all the world's major airlines. We are near the intersection of US-75 and State Highway 121.
Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, also known as DFW Airport, is the primary international airport serving the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex and the North Texas Region in the U.S. state of Texas.
At 27 square miles, DFW is the 2nd largest airport in land size and is bigger than the island of Manhattan.
DFW serves nearly every global airline EXCEPT Southwest Airlines.
Love Field is the home for Southwest Airlines. Delta and Alaska also service DAL airport.
The airport was started in World War I as a training field for army aviators. It was the tradition at the time when they established a new flying field to name it after an army aviator who had perished in the line of duty. And the next name on the list was Lieutenant Moss Lee Love, who was from a prominent family in Fairfax, Virginia. And that’s how it came to be named Love Field.
For a special, "small town" feel, consider the Grand Hotel on McKinney Town Square
There are many other hotels and VRBO nearby, at every price point and brand. Search by distance from our address will provide you with a huge list!
There are plenty of rental car options from both airports, as well as extensive support via Uber and Lyft. Both airports are approximately the same distance away, each taking around 40 minutes one-way.
